The composer Clément Janequin (1485-1558), the French engineer and aviation pioneer Clément Ader (1841-1925), the French poet Clément Marot.

Appointed directly by St. Peter, St. Clement was the third pope of the Catholic Church. Exiled in Crimea by Emperor Trajan, he was condemned to break stones in a quarry, then martyred in 97. After him, thirteen popes took his name.
